The e-commerce sector in Morocco is experiencing meteoric growth, reaching a turnover of 22 billion dirhams in 2023, with an annual increase of 30% over the last five years. In this context, a new e-commerce platform is being created, resulting from a partnership between C2M, specialist in IT solutions, and Promo 70, recognized players in online commerce. This initiative aims to modernize the online shopping experience for consumers and local merchants, while strengthening Morocco's place on the digital scene.
Unlike large international platforms, this solution was designed to meet the needs of Moroccan merchants and the expectations of local consumers. It aims to offer a fluid interface, secure payments and optimized logistics, thus facilitating access to e-commerce for businesses of all sizes.
“We have developed a tool designed for the Moroccan market, integrating functionalities adapted to the local realities of online commerce,” explains Ibrahim Moussaoui, project manager.
A booming market under legal supervision
With increasing digital adoption by consumers, Moroccan e-commerce benefits from a strengthened regulatory framework. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has put in place laws to regulate consumer protection, the security of online payments and the quality of products sold. In addition, a control system makes it possible to question the platforms in the event of non-compliance of the goods.
Beyond well-established platforms like Jumia, Avito or Marjane Mall, new initiatives are expanding the digital offering and supporting Moroccan companies in their digitalization. The State is also supporting this transition with training dedicated to traders and incubators promoting innovation in the sector.
